Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Mehta has 18 years of Industry & Research experience and 15 years of teaching experience in the field of Environmental Sciences. He has worked as Section-Head with swiss based MNC and handled various technical projects on Water and Waste Water Management, Solid waste management and E-waste management, provided Technical Consultancies to Mega Groups (Pepsi, Coca-Cola, ACC, Lafarge, Tetra-tech, IL&FS, Larsen & Toubro, Ranbaxy) on Water, Air, Solid Waste and e-waste. He is also having Technical expertise with analytical equipment such as (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, GC-FID, GC-MS, XRD, UV-Vis, etc.). He is a trained Associate NCC Officer and commissioned as Lieutenant with 4 J&K Bn NCC, Jammu Gp. Ministry of Defense, GOI. He has held several academic and administrative leadership positions including President (IIC, CUJ), Assistant Director (Directorate of Physical Education, CUJ), Assistant Dean (Dean Students’ Welfare, CUJ), Coordinator (Earth Sciences, CUJ). Currently he is serving as Professor of Environmental Education at PSSCIVE, Bhopal – an apex institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Previously, he was senior faculty member in Department of Environmental Sciences and Coordinator-Department of Earth Sciences at Central University of Jammu. He obtained his bachelors from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and M.Sc. and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He is a Gold Medalist of JNU the premier educational institute of country and won the Best Oral Paper Presentation Award at Indian Science Communication Congress (ISCC-2014) and also bagged the DST Young Scientist presentation award in the GMM Meet held at IIT Mumbai. Prof. Mehta is a trained faculty under entrepreneurship educator programme, PM-YUVA and has 8 IPRs to his credit. He represented the Central University of Jammu thrice at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi in Meeting of National Innovation Club (2016-2018) and at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar J&K (2018) in policy and startup conclave meet. He was conferred with Certificate of Appreciation by Executive Council of Central University of Jammu in year 2020 for his outstanding and exemplary contribution to Academic and Corporate Life of Central University of Jammu and was also conferred with Certificate of Inspired Teacher National Network by HVC, CUJ. He has delivered more than 65 invited talks at National & International Platform, published more than 38 research papers in National & International Journals of repute and also completed research projects sanctioned by DST, CPCB, NITI-Aayog & UGC. Guided 80 M.Sc. research projects for their degree, & 4 Ph.D. scholars and authored 9 books of Commission of Scientific and Technical Terminology of MoE, GOI.
